Last week at 36 weeks I was 1.5 cm 0% effaced and today at 37 weeks I’m 3 cm and 60% effaced so I do feel that is some progress. Any sort of dilation or lack there of prior to active labor means nothing. You can be 3cm and 80% effaced and not have baby for weeks while someone else can be 0 across the board and have baby in a few hours. This is why is slowly becoming the norm to no longer so cervical checks prior to labor.
