Not sure if its planned or not but personally I prefer 1st person in THIS game. It means you have to be way more aware of what you cant see on the screen and listen carefully to all the sounds around you. The only reason 7 Days seems to be in development hell is because the general public has had access to the game almost as long as the developer has.
